I am a junior broadcast journalism major from San Antonio, Texas; go Spurs go. I am a die hard Spurs fan and a die hard sports fan as well. It's a little sad at times knowing that the only thing that I truly love is sports. I hope to one day pursue my dream of working in the sports world. My minors are sports media studies and cinematic arts arts so whether it be sports broadcasting or making sports documentaries, I hope what I pursue in life it allows me to work in sports.
I have grown up in a family that is full of sports. My father played college baseball and my grandfather played college football at the University of Texas. In high school, I played a multitude of sports but my favorite was football. I love the strategy behind football and all the little strategies that are implemented into the game. There is nothing better than sitting back on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, watching football and relaxing.
I have two bulldogs named Georgia and Sammie. They are absolute menaces and I often find myself following a trail of drool from the staircase to my room. This only leads me to find one them lying on their back snoring on my bed; it sounds like a freight train. However, these dogs are my life and I couldn't imagine what I would do without them.
When I grow up, I hope to achieve my goal of being a sports anchor. Ever since I was little I grew up watching Sports Center and seeing people like Stuart Scott or Scott Van Pelt and wanting to be like them. I love talking about sports because it is such a universal subject. I think there is nothing better to bring people together than sports. This why I came to USC. While all my friends followed each other to the University of Texas and continued highschool into their 20's, I made a personal decision to make a change. I have become a die hard Trojan fan and I know that I made the best decision in the world every time I walk on the beautiful campus.
I look forward to learning how to code and I can't wait to see where this class takes me. Fight on!
